We Love To Swing!

Both my kids love to swing. They love underdogs and going high. They love to close their eyes so it feels like they're flying. I love to swing too. Britton and I did a spider and we were both laughing the whole time as we flew through the air.

Happy Autumn!

Monday, to celebrate the first day of Autumn, we had a picnic at the park for FHE. It was such a beautiful evening. We played some football, played on the playground, played on the swings, and ate good food. It was so nice to be outside.

Time Out

Haley had to put Stripey, her cat, in time out the other day. I didn't ask what she had done, I just set the timer for her. Sometimes (okay, a lot of the time) I wish I could be inside Haley's cute little head.

The other day she was playing Hide and Seek with Kayla and Angelina (her two imaginary friends). At one point, she couldn't find them and enlisted my help. It was hilarious as I went around trying to find them. How do you find an imaginary friend? Anyway, I wasn't very good at it. Everytime I said I had found them, Haley would tell me that they weren't there. Luckily (or unluckily), she found them on her own after a while.

I'm Lovin' It

Last week, I didn't post much. It was a HARD week. Jason hurt his back and he was down and out most of the beginning of the week. Then, I got sick Tuesday night and was completely out of it Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I'm still not quite 100%, but at least I can function. Jason's still going to the chiropractor, but he's able to work and do some things now.

Anyway, here are a few things that I'm loving right now.

I'm loving...
*BYU football! What's not to love really? I always love it but after shut-outs two weeks in a row, it's especially enjoyable. Jason and I have decided to ride our bikes to the games and it's wonderful. We took the trail along the Provo river and it's so pleasant and beautiful. It only takes 10 minutes each way and is much better than the traffic. Even with a parking pass, we still spend about a half hour trying to get into and out of the parking lot.

*my kids playing so well together! Now that Britton is in school all day it seems like he and Haley enjoy each other a lot more when he is home. I love it. I love seeing them have fun together. The other day I overheard Britton say, "Just go to britton'sworld. com" then Haley got out her play cell phone and said, "I'll play it on my phone against you." How funny. Their playing is so different than when I was young before internet and cell phones.

*the weather right now! I just have to look up at the mountains and it puts me in a good mood. It is so beautiful right now. Oh how I love autumn!

*that The Office starts again this week! I can't wait. Bears, Beets, Battle Star Gallactica.

*that I can swallow without it feeling like I'm going to die. This is especially nice for things like, ya know, eating and drinking. Last week I was just miserable.

D and D's Baptisms

Last Sunday we got to go to Dylan and Destry's baptisms. Dylan and Destry are my two newest nephews and the second set of twins in the family (the third set will be here soon!). Ryan and Sheryl adopted Dylan and Destry in July and I'm so happy they are a part of our family!

What handsome boys! This was the serious picture.

This was the silly picture.

Zoo Day

Friday Haley and I went to the zoo with Patricia and Lizzie, Biz and Ethan, and Mijoung and Chloie. It was perfect weather and such a fun day. I didn't take really any pictures of the animals but lots of our kids!

Provo Temple

Last Sunday, after church, I just wanted to relax, think, read, write, etc. But, Jason wanted to watch football, so I decided to take the kids to the Provo temple grounds. I didn't get much reading and writing in, but I did get to relax, think, and enjoy the beautiful day. It was fun seeing all the missionaries and other people enjoying the atmosphere and spirit around the temple. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Fashion Diss by a Four Year Old

Haley (as she touches my hair) : I wish I had hair the same color as you.

Me: Well, you probably will when you grow up because my hair was the same color as yours when I was little.

Haley (excitedly) : So, then we'll have the same color hair!

Me: Yeah, we'll be twins.

Haley (looking at my clothes) : But, I don't want to dress like you.

My Days

I get to spend all day everyday with my favorite girl. Life is good.

Yesterday we met two of my sisters and my sister-in-law at Ikea for lunch and shopping. On the way driving up there, Haley and I were having a blast. We were both in exceptionally good moods. She was reciting poems that we have been learning for preschool. I was trying to teach her some songs. "There are ants, ants, ants, ants trying on the pants in the store, in the store..." and she was just laughing hysterically. It didn't bother me, I just sang louder and louder. Then she would try to make up "jokes" like, "What if you had popcorn mixed with cotton candy?" and then she would laugh and laugh and laugh. Those 20 minutes in the car with her were priceless.
